Damper Coil
Damper coils are the actuator coils that control the opening and closing of air dampers in home appliances such as refrigerators, air conditioners and air purifiers, usually paired with stepper motors or electromagnets. In refrigerators, damper coils regulate the cold air flow between the refrigerator compartment and freezer compartment to realize precise zoned temperature control. In air conditioners, they control the opening of electronic expansion valves or motorized air dampers to adjust airflow direction. In air purifiers, they manage the opening and closing of air inlets and outlets. Damper coils require frequent actuation (tens to hundreds of times per day), and their operating environment may involve low temperatures, condensed water and vibration. Most of these coils are driven by low-voltage DC, demanding low power consumption, high reliability and quiet operation. Common structures include solenoid type (linear traction) and rotary type (gear driving). Their bobbins are often made of self-lubricating materials, and the enameled wire must meet corresponding heat resistance classes. Zhongshan Eternal provides precision winding and automated assembly solutions for micro damper coils.

I. Common Winding Types for Damper Coils

  1. Single-layer Solenoid Winding
Wound in a single dense layer on a cylindrical bobbin, used for electromagnetic damper actuators (energize to pull in, power off for spring reset). It requires uniform axial magnetic field and stable push-pull force, and the production line must ensure consistent winding pitch.

  2. Multi-layer Stepped Winding
To boost magnetic force without increasing axial length, multi-layer winding is adopted with fewer turns at both ends and more turns in the middle (stepped profile) to optimize magnetic field distribution. The production line must support variable pitch programming to realize stepped winding.

  3. Dual-coil Interlock Winding
Two coils with opposite winding directions are designed in series or parallel, for bi-stable dampers (one energization changes state, and the state is maintained after power-off). The production line must feature dual-winding switching and tap leading functions.

  4. Air-core Self-adhesive Winding (Bobbinless)
Using self-bonding wire to wind into an air-core coil, which is directly assembled into the magnetic circuit, for ultra-compact dampers (such as cooling dampers in micro projectors). The equipment must be equipped with heating bonding and precise demolding functions.

II. Advantages of Automated Damper Coil Production Lines

  1. Consistent Actuating Force for Reliable Damper Opening/Closing
The electromagnetic force of damper coils depends on turn count and winding tightness. Automated production lines precisely control turn count and tension, minimizing batch-to-batch pull-in force fluctuation to avoid damper jamming caused by insufficient force.

  2. Precise Low-power Design Implementation
Home appliances are highly sensitive to power consumption. The production line achieves precise resistance control, paired with optimized turn count design, to keep current deviation narrow at rated voltage, ensuring sufficient suction force without excessive heat generation.

  3. High-efficiency Micro Coil Winding
Damper coils are extremely small in size, making manual winding very difficult. Yite's micro production lines are equipped with high-magnification vision systems and micro-tension mechanisms, enabling stable ultra-fine wire winding with daily output fully meeting mass production demands.
